What happens to our memories?
Photographs live on borrowed servers. Memorial pages sit beside advertisements. Accounts close, platforms change, links break. The places we keep our dead have become temporary.
Everspanse was built on a single conviction: a memorial should outlast the company that made it. Everything placed in a Remembrance is written to permanent, decentralised storage, designed to endure for centuries and independent of us.

The shape of a Remembrance

Choose a place.
Walk the landscape and choose a plot within a biome: the Fairy Forest, the Desert, the Ancient Forest. Land is finite, like ground has always been.

Shape the Remembrance.
Gather photographs, voices, music, and words. Arrange them in a private interior space that only the people you invite may enter.

Seal it, permanently.
When you're ready, the Remembrance is written to permanent storage. From that moment it cannot be lost, altered, or held to ransom. Not even by us.

Hold it in your hand.
A crafted keepsake (stone, coin, or framed piece) arrives by post. One touch of a phone opens the way to the Remembrance, for anyone, always.

What happens if Everspanse the company closes?
Your Remembrance does not depend on us staying in business. The data and the record of who owns it live on public, permanent storage, designed to last for centuries and not held on our servers. An open resolver keeps it reachable even if Everspanse itself is gone. That is the whole point of building this way.
Who can see a Remembrance?
The exterior of a plot can be public or private: your choice. The interior, where the photographs, voices, and words live, is only ever entered by the people your family invites. Each invited visit is its own private instance; no stranger wanders into a family’s interior by accident.
Is this cryptocurrency? Do I need a wallet?
No. You never need a wallet, a seed phrase, or any technical knowledge. Ownership of your Remembrance is held for you and is exportable if you ever want it in your own hands, but nothing about visiting, creating, or inheriting a Remembrance asks you to think about any of that.
Can a Remembrance be edited after it's sealed?
What is sealed cannot be altered or erased. That permanence is the promise. If your family wants to add something later, you create a new, separately sealed addendum alongside the original. Nothing already placed is ever removed or rewritten.
What may be placed in a Remembrance?
Public exteriors are lightly moderated, because they sit within a shared landscape other families walk through too. Private interiors are yours, within the law. The moderation exists to protect a shared, sacred space, not to police what your family chooses to remember.
Who inherits it?
Stewardship of a Remembrance passes to whoever your family names, the way any keepsake is passed down: no lawyers, no estate process required. You choose your heirs when you create it, and can update that choice at any time.
Will you ever show ads or sell data?
No: contractually and constitutionally, not just as a current policy. A Remembrance is not a place to advertise to grieving people, and it never will be. Read our full commitments on the principles page.
Can I create one for someone who died years ago? For a pet? For myself, in advance?
Yes, warmly, to all three. There is no window in which grief becomes too old to honour, no restriction to human loved ones, and pre-planning your own Remembrance is one of the most common reasons people begin.
